Position Overview:
As a key member of our development team, you will engage in the creation and upkeep of bespoke software that powers our operations. This role encompasses all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, including technical design, coding, testing, and ongoing support.
Core Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in the design, development, and maintenance of technical projects, ensuring adherence to corporate standards and methodologies.
- Take ownership of delivering substantial system components and lead smaller project initiatives as part of a collaborative team.
- Write clean, efficient, and adaptable code that meets evolving requirements.
- Analyze and debug extensive codebases effectively.
- Stay informed about the tools and libraries relevant to your primary programming language and development environment.
- Independently design and develop software components, focusing on simplicity and maintainability.
- Identify opportunities for significant refactoring and propose solutions to complex, ambiguous challenges.
- Create and uphold unit tests to ensure software quality.
Agile Development Participation:
- Actively engage in all aspects of agile software development, including sprint planning, story reviews, and demonstrations.
- Assist in project estimations and planning sessions, contributing to project kick-offs.
- Mentor junior developers and participate in pair programming sessions to foster skill development.
Quality Assurance Support:
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to develop integration test plans and automated testing strategies.
- Drive the creation of technical user stories and work with the SCRUM team to ensure clarity and understanding.
Production Support:
- Provide support for production applications, including on-call responsibilities as needed.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive support documentation and lead root cause analysis for system issues.
Technical Leadership:
- Function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in specific technology areas, mentoring colleagues and staying current with industry trends.
- Oversee the implementation of best practices in software development, including build and release processes, and assist in onboarding new team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least five years of programming experience in a professional setting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop effective solutions that align with business objectives.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Oracle Cloud technologies, including Oracle Integration Cloud and Oracle Fusion Cloud.
- Proficiency in SQL/PLSQL and familiarity with various programming paradigms.
- Understanding of instrumentation strategies for monitoring and troubleshooting software components.
Working Conditions:
- This role may require on-call duties, including nights and weekends.
- The work environment is typical of an office setting, with moderate noise levels.
