At Rutland Regional Medical Center, we are seeking a skilled Patient Registration Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our access team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration process for patients receiving care in our Outpatient Services, Offsite Laboratories, Specimen Collection Center, or Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately identify and register patients in our hospital information system, capturing complete demographic, insurance, and clinical information.
  • Handle all aspects of scheduling same-day visits, tests, and exams, while providing exceptional reception and managing patient flow in support of Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging testing services or Emergency Department Care.
  • Utilize a computerized information system to efficiently manage patient data and ensure accurate records and timely billing.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant customer service experience.
  • Experience using a computerized information system.
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Customer Service skills.
  • Professionalism.
  • Ability to comply with flexible scheduling needs regarding duties/shift/holidays/etc.
  • Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required to deal with patients from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Ability to discretely handle confidential information.
  • General office skills.

Pay Range: $25.41
