Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our team at Rutland Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely preparation, submission, and follow-up of claims to third-party carriers, intermediaries, and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit claims to third-party carriers, intermediaries, and patients in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Follow up on outstanding claims to ensure prompt payment and resolution of any issues.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure accurate and complete patient information.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulations, laws, and industry standards related to medical billing and coding.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a business or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of patient accounting experience, including 1 year of electronic billing systems experience.
  • Strong knowledge of hospital billing practices, healthcare payors, and electronic remittance processing.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems.
  • Experience with medical posting, billing, and patient account services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
