Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Program Director to join our team at Belcan. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the performance of divisional programs or a set of related projects to achieve business objectives throughout the program lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a program or combination of programs of broad scope and complexity.
  • Interact regularly with customers and division team leaders to ensure customer requirements are met and are in the best interests of the company.
  • Develop and implement program management processes, schedules, cost, resources, risk, project change management, and commitments to customers.
  • Ensure that the cost basis and/or pricing is correct by evaluating resource requirements and performing risk analyses.
  • Responsible for integrated program schedules, data integration, tracking of financial and quality performance, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Address critical issues on complex programs and lead the team to develop action plans to improve performance.
  • Develop and implement program plans covering mature and new product development programs.
  • Participate in program planning efforts and direct all phases of programs throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact to the program's customer and be responsible for the negotiation of contract changes related to scope management.
  • Organize and lead programs by defining and identifying required expertise and providing feedback on contribution and performance to team members.
  • Responsible for plans, budgets, staffing, training, and development of direct staff.
  • Oversee and approve task planning on programs including resource requirements and effort estimates related to program performance.
  • Establish and communicate overall priorities and changing program requirements to functional areas.
  • May manage and/or specify subcontracted work.
  • Ensure strong customer relationships by responding to all customer requests and serving as the primary point of contact for assigned program activities, status, and problem resolution.
  • Serve as a key presenter and facilitator at major program reviews and ensure meeting actions are documented and communicated.
  • Act as a consultant to management on specific programs or overall program management.
  • Establish goals and objectives required to complete programs.
  • Provide mentoring within program management and leadership to varied project teams.
  • Maintain professional and technical/product knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical/specialty publications, and/or participating in professional associations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Engineering, Sciences, Business, or a related field.
  • Prior program or significant project management experience.
  • PMP certification required, typically within 6 months of assignment.
  • Advanced degree (MS/MBA) and additional certifications (e.g. PgMP, PMI-RMP) preferred.
  • Must have experience with MSP Project.
  • Aerospace experience is a plus.
  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • 4+ years leading multiple projects/programs of varying complexity and scope and direct leadership of teams.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Experience with new product development from customer requirements.
  • Prior cross-functional and business experience preferred.
