Receivables Processing Specialist

Position: Accounts Receivable Processor Department: Client Fund Accounting
Position Type: Non-Exempt Status: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Position Summary
The Accounts Receivable Processor is responsible for managing account reconciliations and addressing customer inquiries for designated Trusts, ensuring adherence to relevant plans and organizational policies.
Access Information: This role requires minimal access to Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
Key Responsibilities
- Responds to customer inquiries through various channels regarding billing issues for stakeholders including employers, providers, auditors, and client representatives.
- Processes payments for COBRA, self-pay, refunds, and cash receipts.
- Manages the receipt and processing of new employer contracts while maintaining and updating existing agreements.
- Prepares and processes contribution reports, ensuring reconciliation with payments. Investigates discrepancies, credits, retro-payments, and issues, communicating with employers as necessary.
- Handles deposits, requests for stop payments, and reconciles batch files, making corrections as required.
- Conducts delinquency and payroll audit processing, including reporting, follow-up, and preparation for data entry into the system.
- Reviews, investigates, corrects, and balances month-end edit reports.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least six months of relevant experience in areas such as third-party administration, bookkeeping, finance, banking, or accounting.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Computer literate with the ability to learn new software and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a healthcare setting or with a third-party benefits administrator.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Skilled in 10-key calculations.
