Role Summary:

The Corporate Senior Risk Manager is responsible for coordinating activities related to the collection, analysis, and reporting of data that supports various risk reduction and quality enhancement initiatives across the organization. This role serves as a vital resource and consultant to the risk management department and facility leaders, focusing on identifying patterns and trends from System Improvement Reports (SIRs). The manager will utilize data to uncover system-wide patterns and trends, producing actionable insights that facilitate effective proactive risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes risk performance metrics to foster standardization, optimize care delivery, minimize errors, and achieve organizational quality objectives. Acts as a leader and resource for clinicians and Risk Managers throughout the organization.
  • Maintains comprehensive risk management statistics and documentation in compliance with regulatory bodies and accreditation standards. Stays informed about current and future regulatory requirements related to risk management functions.
  • Conducts business analysis of risk data to mitigate operational losses and ensure maximum protection of organizational assets.
  • Develops tools to support various risk management processes, including the identification and analysis of incidents and loss information.
  • Assists in data extraction and employs report writing software to organize data for meaningful report generation.
  • Analyzes patterns and variances to identify opportunities for system-wide risk reduction.
  • Creates proactive risk reduction and performance improvement action plans, assists in their implementation, and evaluates outcomes for effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to develop strategies aimed at improving risk performance and outcomes, reporting findings to relevant leaders.
  • Provides risk-related support to facility departments by analyzing event trends to formulate plans and processes that enhance patient safety and outcomes.
  • Delivers educational materials for training opportunities to enhance the clinical staff's knowledge base, presenting as necessary.
  • Facilitates the sharing of best practices within the organization through monitoring and analysis of root cause analysis (RCA) findings, distributing learnings across departments regularly.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education: No specific educational requirements; however, candidates must meet the standards for relevant licensure and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience: A combination of education and experience is required, including a valid RN license, a Bachelor's degree in nursing, business administration, health administration, public health, education, or a related field, along with four years of direct patient care experience in a clinical setting and two years in a management or risk management role.

Licensure Requirement: A valid Tennessee RN license is mandatory.
