Position Overview:


The Educational Support Specialist collaborates with the Lead Teacher to deliver educational and specialized services tailored to the unique requirements of assigned students, as outlined in individual educational plans such as IEPs and PEPs. This role fosters a nurturing environment, providing guidance and support to students.

Compensation:
Minimum:
USD $19.00/Hr.

Maximum:
USD $24.00/Hr.

Key Responsibilities:
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Ensures a safe and conducive learning environment for students in accordance with administrative policies and procedures.
  • Oversees and manages student behavior within the classroom and during school-related activities.
  • Provides a consistent and dependable supportive presence in the classroom.
  • Assists in delivering both group and individual instruction to students.
  • Encourages engagement and cooperation in both individual and group activities.
  • Creates a stimulating and motivating learning atmosphere for students who may struggle with traditional educational settings.
  • Helps in the timely completion of essential documentation to accurately track student progress, including daily attendance, grades, IEP data logs, portfolios, and behavioral records.
  • May assist in developing curricular and remedial materials as directed by the Lead Teacher.
  • In the absence of the Lead Teacher, ensures the implementation of all instructional plans.
  • Actively participates as a member of the Treatment Team, sharing relevant information both orally and in writing.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of a positive school culture.
  • Maintains appropriate rules, safety, and security for students, providing crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Reports all pertinent situations to the Lead Teacher and/or administration.
  • Attends required training sessions and meetings.
  • Communicates the mission and vision of Arrow Child & Family Ministries to staff, students, and families served.
  • Performs all duties in compliance with contractual obligations, state and federal regulations, Arrow policies, NCASES, and COA standards.

Qualifications:


A High School diploma or GED is required, along with a minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children and families, preferably in an educational setting. A Bachelor's or Associate's degree is preferred.
