Position Overview

We are in search of a Director of Software Engineering to spearhead the design, execution, and oversight of technological solutions tailored for Ally's P2P and Supply Chain sectors.

The ideal candidate will possess the capability to assess and enhance the performance of Software Development Managers and Developers within a collaborative framework.

Responsibilities include accountability for project outcomes, resource distribution, task assignments, budget management, and ensuring the overall excellence of deliverables.

This role will involve collaboration with various technology partners to articulate and advance strategic requirements and solutions across development, infrastructure, and testing teams.


Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate the vision, strategy, and roadmap in collaboration with key stakeholders to achieve quantifiable business results for the Procure-to-Pay Process transformation and Supply Chain applications.
  • Lead technology discussions with senior leadership, providing critical insights and recommendations that influence technology-driven decisions.
  • Possess a robust technical background in developing data products and insights related to Spend Management Solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with product teams, technology, and business units to implement business strategies utilizing Generative AI.
  • Recruit, guide, mentor, and manage a team of technology experts; conduct regular performance assessments and offer career development support.
  • Define technological solutions to enhance business processes and minimize redundancy.
  • Maintain effective communication with senior management and external partners in a timely manner.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within defined scope, and budgetary constraints.

Qualifications

7-10+ years of extensive expertise and a profound understanding of Procure-to-Pay Process transformation and Supply Chain applications.

Significant experience in a highly regulated sector, particularly in financial services or related domains.

Proven leadership experience in managing the architecture and design of P2P technology solutions for large-scale banking initiatives and change management functions.

Familiarity with Coupa P2P, Workday, and/or Ariba platforms is essential, with specific expertise in relevant Coupa modules including Accounts Payables, vendor risk management, and integrations.

Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and resolve issues effectively.

Strong communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
