The City of Oakland, CA is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Neighborhood Law Corps Attorney to join our team. As a key member of our Office of the City Attorney, you will play a critical role in advancing our mission to provide high-quality legal services to the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal representation to low-income residents and small businesses in Oakland, focusing on issues such as housing, employment, and consumer rights.
- Collaborate with community organizations and advocacy groups to identify and address systemic issues affecting the community.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to address the legal needs of Oakland residents, including the creation of new programs and services.
- Work closely with city officials and other stakeholders to ensure that the City's legal services are responsive to the needs of the community.
Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school and admission to the California State Bar.
- At least 2 years of experience in public interest law or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
