Overview: Are you an experienced professional in the field of air quality management? Brown and Caldwell is seeking a dedicated Senior Consultant specializing in Air Quality to enhance our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with evolving air quality regulations and delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of air emissions calculations, conduct emissions modeling, and prepare necessary permit documentation for various projects.
  • Act as the primary reviewer for air quality permitting initiatives, ensuring accuracy in calculations and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Perform comprehensive regulatory research, interpret requirements, and effectively communicate findings to both project teams and clients.
  • Draft technical memoranda outlining permitting strategies for client consideration.
  • Assess the applicability of air emissions regulations to specific sources of emissions.
  • Compile greenhouse gas emissions inventories as part of compliance efforts.
  • Conduct site assessments at various facilities to support emissions inventory development and compliance evaluations.
  • Engage directly with clients and regulatory bodies to facilitate communication and ensure project success.
  • Collaborate with national teams to complete assignments efficiently in a virtual environment.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to support client engagements.
  • Assist in fostering client relationships and contribute to proposal development efforts.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in air quality compliance, with a focus on client interaction and business development.
  • Proven expertise in Clean Air Act permitting and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal air emissions regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience in client and regulatory agency interactions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Material Science) or a related scientific field (Atmospheric, Environmental, Meteorological, Chemistry, Toxicology, Data Science).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception to completion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, along with essential computer skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff on air quality initiatives.
  • Familiarity with greenhouse gas inventory and dispersion modeling.
  • Experience in the oil and gas sector is advantageous.
