The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring our clients achieve success in every project. You will collaborate with esteemed senior technical experts, offering guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate calculations for potential emissions, conduct air emissions modeling, and prepare necessary permit documentation for both industrial and municipal clients.
  • Act as a senior reviewer for air quality permitting initiatives, including evaluating modeling files and permit applications.
  • Perform regulatory research, interpret relevant regulations, and effectively communicate findings to the project team and clients.
  • Create technical memoranda outlining permitting strategies for client consideration.
  • Assess the applicability of air emissions regulations for specific sources of emissions.
  • Compile greenhouse gas emissions inventories.
  • Conduct site assessments at various facilities to support emissions inventory development, permitting evaluations, and compliance audits.
  • Engage directly with clients and regulatory bodies on behalf of Brown and Caldwell.
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively with national teams to complete projects in a virtual environment.
  • Willingness to travel to support regional and national client initiatives.
  • Assist internal Client Service Teams in fostering client relationships and preparing proposals.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in air quality compliance, demonstrating progressive responsibilities, including client interaction and business development.
  • Expertise in Clean Air Act permitting (including Title V) and compliance.
  • Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal air emissions regulations.
  • Experience in client communication and interaction with regulatory agency personnel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Material Science) or Science (Atmospheric, Environmental, Meteorological, Chemistry, Toxicology, Data Science).
  • Proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, along with basic computer skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently while maintaining a strong emphasis on health and safety.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior air quality professionals.
  • Experience mentoring and training junior staff on air quality projects.
  • Leadership skills to motivate teams and ensure high-quality deliverables within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Advanced knowledge in chemistry is preferred.
  • Experience with greenhouse gas inventories and dispersion modeling is advantageous.
  • Experience in specific regions, such as California or Texas, is preferred.
  • Experience in the oil and gas sector is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Prevention of Significant Deterioration and Non-attainment New Source Review processes is beneficial.
