Position Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that all operations at the facility adhere to company, state, and federal regulations, particularly concerning employee safety and work execution.

This role involves overseeing the planning, coordination, and implementation of all maintenance and reliability activities within the facility, ensuring cost-effectiveness to maximize equipment availability, safety, and environmental performance.

Collaboration with the Leadership Team is essential for preparing and managing the facility maintenance budget. Responsibilities include submitting recommendations, monitoring expenses, preparing cost estimates, justifying equipment needs, and assisting in the development of improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will foster a culture of critical thinking and problem-solving, promoting continuous improvement in maintenance operations and overall facility performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the facility maintenance reliability programs and strategize long-term improvements.
  • Manage all preventative maintenance programs, including electrical, instrumentation, automation, controls, and mechanical systems.
  • Develop strategic maintenance plans focusing on infrastructure monitoring and enhancements.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in facility maintenance and integrate new procedures and training as necessary.
  • Implement best practices in maintenance, including effective planning and scheduling, KPI tracking, and technician training in precision maintenance.
  • Facilitate succession planning and career development within the maintenance team.
  • Ensure efficient use of manpower and contractors, including oversight of long-term contracts.
  • Promote a culture of professionalism, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, respect, and trust.
  • Coordinate annual maintenance shutdowns and manage mobile equipment across the facility.
  • Work closely with inventory and accounting to ensure spare parts availability while optimizing inventory levels.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field is required. A background in Reliability Engineering is preferred.

Experience:

  • 5-10 years in a manufacturing environment, with 3-5 years in a supervisory role.

Skills:

  • Effective communication with technical specialists, management, and technicians.
  • Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team in both supervisory and technical capacities.
  • Proficiency in business tools, including computers and relevant software applications.
  • Capability to establish sustainable systems for tracking and reporting maintenance costs.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with a proven ability to motivate and manage a team.

Additional Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma, and CIP.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Technical and analytical skills in maintenance, engineering, and operations, including FMEA and RCA.
  • Knowledge of Risk-Based Maintenance and Inspection methodologies.
  • Understanding of Predictive Maintenance, Digitization, and Automation tools.

Compensation: Salary range of $125,000 - $140,000 per year.
