Job Summary:

The University of Miami seeks a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager 3, Construction to lead and manage construction projects from inception to completion. This key role will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Direct and supervise construction staff, architects, engineers, and support personnel to ensure that projects are completed to the required standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage and mitigate risks, including ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and University policies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including contractors, designers, and inspectors, to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered to the required standards.
  • Ensure that all project documentation, including reports, minutes, and correspondence, is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
  • Provide regular progress reports to senior management and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as construction management, engineering, or architecture.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in construction project management, including experience in leading and managing large-scale construction projects.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to direct, manage, and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as construction management, engineering, or architecture.
  • Professional certifications, such as PMP or LEED AP.
  • Experience working in a higher education environment.
