Job Summary:To support the growth of our Personal Lines business, we are seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Representative to maximize the potential of our Southwest Platform. This role requires a sales-minded individual who can provide world-class customer service while identifying opportunities to round out accounts and create new business.
Key Responsibilities:- Document all service interactions in our computer system
- Process incoming mail and file designated documents daily
- Identify reasons for cancellations and take proactive steps to retain accounts
- Stay up-to-date on company underwriting guidelines and rules for all carriers
- Participate in providing new business quotations to sales calls
- Prepare weekly new business production reports
- Develop summaries of insurance policies, schedules, and proposals for account review
- Perform renewal activities as needed
- Verify policy and policy change information
- Actively solicit increases in coverage or rounding out accounts through sales to clients
- Assist walk-in clients in a professional manner
- Provide support on insurance claims where communication issues arise
- Anticipate future needs and proactively contact established clients to renew and upgrade accounts
- Develop long-term business relationships with clients and underwriters
- Review and sign off on new business applications from agents
- Collaborate with the Sales Department to drive revenue growth
- Maintain a positive attitude and provide a pleasant work environment
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Effective communication skills to present information to customers, clients, and colleagues
- Proficiency in Applied EPIC (Agency Management System), Microsoft Word, and Outlook
- Knowledge of FSC rater and ability to use it
- Basic math skills to compute rates, ratios, and percentages
- Maintain a valid Fire and Casualty license or Personal Lines Broker/Agent license issued by the state of California, Department of Insurance
- Able to produce significant output with minimal wasted effort
- Does not cut corners unethically, earns trust and maintains confidences
- Plans, organizes, and schedules in a productive manner
- Moves quickly and takes a forceful stand without being abrasive

The work environment is a temperature-controlled, non-smoking office with moderately high cubicles and a moderate noise level.
