Position: Standardized Patient

Job Overview:

The role of a Standardized Patient (SP) involves the portrayal of patients, family members, or healthcare team members for the purpose of training and evaluating healthcare professionals, including medical students and residents.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately represent assigned roles in a consistent manner.
  • Recall specific actions and dialogues from interactions with trainees.
  • Be prepared to wear a hospital gown during assessments.
  • Comfortably undergo repeated physical examination procedures.
  • Provide constructive feedback to learners based on their performance.
  • Complete necessary checklists to document communication skills and history taking.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a standardized patient, healthcare professional, instructor, or actor is preferred.


Skills Required:
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions for role portrayal.
  • Capable of simulating various clinical scenarios, including patient demeanor and medical history.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
