Pharmacist - Patient Care Specialist

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our team. As a patient care specialist, you will work closely with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pharmaceutical care through drug therapy assessment, planning, implementation, and monitoring.
- Consult with physicians and other caregivers to make drug therapy recommendations.
- Perform duties related to medication use process, including medication order review and processing, review of computer order entry accuracy, drug therapy problem identification, and adverse drug reaction prevention.
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to the Pharmacy team as needed.
- Prioritize tasks, delegate to co-workers, and monitor medication use processes to provide all medication needs in a timely, courteous, and customer-oriented manner.
Requirements:
- Current licensure by the Maine Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacist or eligibility for the same through reciprocation.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree, preferred.
- At least 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience in unit-dose and IV Admixtures and drug Therapy monitoring, preferred.
- Previous experience with computerized patient registration/medical information system.
- Ability and aptitude to adapt to using computer keyboards and terminal.
- Effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
- A high level of mental alertness.
