Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at Riverview Psychiatric Center. As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing therapeutic recreation programs to patients, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs for patients, including leisure-based activities, social skills training, and coping skills development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide training and supervision to paraprofessional staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills to support patients.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to measure patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicating with patients, families, and professional staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
