Job Summary:

As a Recreational Therapist at the State of Maine, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing therapeutic recreation programs for patients. Your expertise will help create a supportive environment that fosters social skills, leisure activities, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to identify patient needs and develop personalized recreation plans
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
• Design and implement therapeutic recreation programs, including psycho-educational and leisure-based groups
• Train and supervise paraprofessional staff to ensure high-quality care

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy, or related field
• Certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or one year of experience in a therapeutic recreation program
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
