Are you passionate about delivering exceptional patient care? Do you have a strong desire to work in a fast-paced environment where no two days are ever the same? We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Technician to join our team at Doctors Hospital of Augusta.

About the Role:

As an Endoscopy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting our medical team in the operating room. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing the procedure room, selecting and operating medical equipment, and maintaining patient advocate status throughout the procedure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the procedure room and equipment for each procedure, ensuring that all necessary supplies and instruments are available.
  • Assist the physician and medical team during procedures, providing support and maintaining a safe and efficient environment.
  • Maintain patient advocate status by properly identifying and handling specimens, adhering to perioperative and hospital policies.
  • Document all Automated Endoscope Reprocessors and autoclaves, ensuring accurate and timely recording of equipment maintenance and sterilization.
  • Practice careful and efficient use of supplies and linen, minimizing waste and optimizing resource utilization.

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate/Equivalent required.
  • Graduate of a School of Surgical Technology with successful completion of certification exam, or Certificate of completion of the SGNA GI Technical Specialist Program preferred.
  • Previous Endoscopy or Surgical experience required.
  • A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification required.
