Job Overview

Sage Hospitality Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, management, and execution of all food and beverage operations in our hotel.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement long-term and short-term plans for kitchen operations, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality products.
  • Collaborate with our culinary team to create innovative menus and procedural changes that drive revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage food and labor costs within approved budget constraints, ensuring profitability and competitiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of kitchen associates and managers, fostering a positive and inclusive work culture.
  • Plan and manage the procurement, production, preparation, and presentation of all food and beverages in the hotel, ensuring quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Monitor and control the maintenance and sanitation of kitchen equipment and related areas, ensuring a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Develop and implement departmental budgets, analyzing and controlling labor and food costs to meet management objectives.
  • Design and implement menus and back-up systems, utilizing corporate guidelines to drive revenue growth and profit margins.
  • Execute and promote our Accident Prevention Program, minimizing liabilities and related expenses.
Qualifications
  • More than two years of post-high school education, but less than a degree from a four-year college.
  • Five to ten years of experience in a related position, preferably with Sage Hospitality Group or a similar organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of food principles and practices, including management of people and complex problems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with moderate hearing and speech abilities.
  • Excellent vision, comprehension, and literacy skills, with the ability to analyze and fulfill budget requirements.
Physical Demands
  • Lifting objects weighing 30-35 pounds, 3 to 5 times during the shift.
  • Carrying various items, including clipboards, food products, and small equipment.
  • Kneeling during inspections and monitoring activities.
  • Full mobility to inspect and monitor the kitchen environment.
  • Continuous standing, with at least 50% of the day spent expediting, cooking, or inspecting.
Environment

The Executive Chef will work primarily indoors, with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures in the kitchen and freezer areas.
