Job Overview

Hotel Equities, a distinguished leader in hotel development and hospitality management, is currently seeking an exceptional Culinary Service Associate for the Sheraton Columbia, SC.

Role Objective:

The Culinary Service Associate is responsible for ensuring the quality and presentation of food is maintained at the highest standards while delivering it promptly. This role involves preparing and assembling food orders swiftly according to established recipes and procedures to minimize waste. Providing warm, knowledgeable service and guidance reassures guests that they are receiving the best experience possible.

  • Read and interpret orders accurately, preparing all food items according to standard recipes and procedures within designated timeframes.
  • Ensure proper plate presentations are executed as per the order specifications.
  • Verify that the final presentation of each dish is correct, including appropriate accompaniments and garnishes, and that any special requests are fulfilled.
  • Monitor cooking times to ensure timely preparation of all orders.
  • Track orders by table and ensure all items on a ticket are delivered simultaneously.
  • Facilitate the timely delivery of courses to guests.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times.
  • Exhibit a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor consistently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications and Skills:

A high school diploma or equivalent qualification is required.

Experience with hospitality standards from brands such as Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt is preferred.

This position requires the following abilities:

  • Clear vision to read detailed guest checks, computer printouts, and written instructions, as well as to observe the restaurant environment.
  • Manual dexterity to operate equipment, grasp items, and balance trays loaded with food and beverages.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while following verbal and written instructions and communicating effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in busy and noisy environments.
  • Ability to handle customer service challenges with tact and understanding, especially in stressful situations.
