Job Overview

The Senior Project Coordinator specializing in Transmission & Distribution (T&D) and Substation initiatives will be tasked with steering and managing the effective execution of various electrical infrastructure assignments. This position encompasses overseeing all facets of project planning, implementation, and delivery, ensuring that objectives are met on schedule, within the defined scope, and adhering to budgetary constraints. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in directing large-scale T&D and substation projects, exhibit strong leadership capabilities, and demonstrate the ability to collaborate efficiently with diverse teams, clients, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership:
    • Direct the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful conclusion of multiple T&D and substation projects.
    • Establish project objectives, scope, deliverables, and performance metrics.
    • Create and manage project plans, timelines, and financials, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client expectations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Act as the primary liaison for clients, ensuring transparent communication and alignment on project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
    • Foster and maintain robust relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
    • Conduct regular project meetings and provide updates to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Develop and oversee project budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure financial targets are achieved.
    • Identify and address risks related to budget overruns, schedule delays, and scope modifications.
    • Guarantee timely completion of all project milestones and final outputs.
  • Risk Assessment:
    • Recognize potential risks and formulate mitigation strategies to tackle challenges that may hinder project success.
    • Track project progress, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
    • Implement contingency plans as necessary to maintain project timelines.
  • Quality Control & Compliance:
    • Ensure that all project activities comply with industry standards, quality expectations, and safety regulations.
    • Collaborate closely with QA/QC teams to oversee the quality of materials, workmanship, and overall project execution.
    • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as utility standards.
  • Team Management:
    • Guide and mentor a team of project managers, engineers, and construction professionals to meet project goals.
    • Encourage a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting professional development.
    • Oversee team performance, providing regular feedback and ensuring accountability.
  • Contract Oversight:
    • Manage contract negotiations, change orders, and claims.
    • Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations while safeguarding the company's interests.
    • Review and authorize subcontractor agreements, purchase orders, and invoices.
Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is required.
    • A Master's degree or MBA is advantageous.
  • Experience:
    • 7+ years of experience in project/program management, focusing on T&D and substation projects.
    • Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale electrical infrastructure projects.
    • Experience with utility projects, including high-voltage transmission lines, substations, and related infrastructure.
  • Skills:
    • Strong project/program management skills, with proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
    • In-depth knowledge of T&D and substation design, construction, and operations.
    • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Able to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Certifications:
    • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project management certification is highly preferred.
    • OSHA 30-hour certification is a plus.
