We are in search of a highly skilled and passionate Vice President of University Relations and Administration for an exciting opportunity at a prestigious private institution. The ideal candidate will bring over 15 years of experience in university relations and development within an academic or comparable setting.

The Administration Office is looking for a pivotal executive to deliver strategic direction in the planning and management of stakeholder relations and university initiatives that align with the institution's mission. Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President will oversee Development, Alumni Relations, and Corporate/Foundation Engagement, aiming to enhance the university's network of partnerships and support. This role requires collaboration with the President, Board of Trustees, and other university leaders to formulate and execute strategies that align with the institution's mission and strategic objectives. Candidates should demonstrate a successful history in development/fundraising or sales/business, with a strong ability to work effectively with team members, alumni, students, faculty, and board members to achieve institutional goals. A high level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills is essential, along with a focus on outcomes and relationship-building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Articulate and embody the mission and culture of Chapel Hill Solutions while possessing a comprehensive understanding of its programs and departments.
  • Foster relationships with the Board, alumni, faculty, staff, student families, and community stakeholders to advocate for the university.
  • Lead a motivated team in all aspects of fundraising, including cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Develop effective engagement programs that enhance commitment and support for the university.
  • Manage and inspire a professional team to ensure cohesive efforts and the achievement of all objectives.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work during weekends as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of demonstrated leadership in advancement, preferably in higher education, with experience in major gifts, capital campaigns, alumni relations, and planned giving.
  • 10+ years of management experience in an academic or similar environment.
  • A Master's Degree is required; a Doctorate or PhD from an accredited institution is strongly preferred.
  • Proven financial acumen with oversight and leadership capabilities.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Exceptional communication and public speaking skills to promote a vision and inspire teams and volunteers.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the capacity to build strong relationships based on trust and credibility.
