POSITION SUMMARY


The Head of Human Resources will report directly to the General Manager of the property, while also maintaining a functional reporting relationship with the Regional Senior Director of Human Resources. This role is essential to the executive committee of the property.

As a vital member of the Human Resources team, the individual will provide a high level of expertise and generalist knowledge in human resources for the designated property.

The individual will be responsible for talent acquisition, succession planning, performance management, and employee development, utilizing technology effectively, and mentoring others to help achieve business objectives efficiently.

They will work with a significant degree of autonomy, creating processes to meet objectives in alignment with broader business goals.
Furthermore, they will employ a Human Resource Business Plan that aligns with property and brand strategies to deliver HR services that foster business success.


CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; 4 years of experience in human resources, management operations, or a related professional area.
OR

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; 2 years of experience in human resources, management operations, or a related professional area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Developing the Human Resources Strategy

  • Implements and follows up on engagement survey initiatives.
  • Promotes and builds talent management ranks in support of property and regional diversity strategies.
  • Translates business priorities into actionable Human Resources strategies and plans.
  • Implements and sustains Human Resources initiatives at the property level.
  • Facilitates the human capital review process and leads succession planning efforts.
  • Evaluates the leadership pipeline through the human capital review process and assists with follow-up actions.
  • Creates value through proactive strategies that influence performance outcomes or control costs.
  • Monitors the effective use of HR technology by property managers and employees.
  • Leads and participates in succession management and workforce planning.
  • Oversees Human Resources strategy and execution.
  • Acts as a key change manager for initiatives with significant employee impact.
  • Participates in owner meetings as a member of the property executive committee, providing insights into Human Resources results.
  • Supervises on-property Human Resources staff and collaborates with market-based Human Resources specialists as needed.

Overseeing Staffing and Recruitment

  • Analyzes open positions to balance talent development and business needs.
  • Serves as a coach and facilitator in the selection and interview process.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and staffing optimization.
  • Makes staffing decisions to manage the talent pipeline effectively.
  • Develops staffing strategies in collaboration with hiring managers regarding hiring practices.
  • Monitors the sourcing process and evaluates staffing outcomes.
  • Ensures managers are proficient in assessing and evaluating staff performance.

Managing Employee Compensation

  • Stays informed about internal and external compensation trends.
  • Leads the planning of total compensation strategies for hourly employees.
  • Advocates for the effective communication and use of total compensation systems and policies.
  • Participates in internal equity analysis and addresses any issues identified.
  • Creates and implements total compensation packages, including recognition and incentive programs aligned with property priorities.

Facilitating Staff Development

  • Ensures that the responsibilities of the Human Resources staff are fulfilled as outlined in their job descriptions.
  • Ensures that property Human Resources staff are adequately trained in employee-related matters.
  • Acts as a resource for Human Resources staff on employee relations issues.
  • Continuously promotes positive employee relations concepts.
