Job Summary

The Delta Gamma Fraternity is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team. As a key member of our staff, the Executive Chef will be responsible for developing and implementing meal plans, preparing and cooking meals for our members and guests, and ensuring the day-to-day maintenance and operation of our Chapter House kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Menu Planning and Preparation: Develop and implement meal plans that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our members and guests, and prepare and cook meals to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Kitchen Management: Manage the kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and supervising kitchen assistants, and ensure that all kitchen staff are properly trained on food safety and handling procedures.
  • Food Purchasing and Inventory: Purchase food and supplies in accordance with our budget and ensure that all inventory is properly managed and maintained.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, including the cleanliness of refrigerators, freezers, storage areas, stoves, equipment, utensils, sinks, counters, cupboards, floors, etc.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the House Director and other staff members to plan and implement special events and menu adjustments, and provide weekly menus in advance for posting.

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or restaurant serving large volumes of meals, with experience accommodating meal options for food allergies/sensitivities as well as vegan/vegetarian options.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; further culinary education with certification and/or degree desired.
  • Certifications: Current and valid ServSafe certification.

Physical Demands

  • Lifting Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical Abilities: Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and climb stairs as needed.
