About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Music Educator to join our team at The Spire School. As a Music Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing a unique learning environment for our students with social and emotional challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging music lessons tailored to the individual needs of our students
  • Collaborate with our team of educators to ensure a comprehensive and supportive learning environment
  • Assist with adjusting the physical environment to accommodate changing student needs
  • Provide in-service training, workshops, and meetings to keep staff informed of current practices and trends in Special Education
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Music or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Valid Connecticut state teacher certification in the content area (Comprehensive, 049-Music)
  • 2 years of experience teaching special education student populations preferred
  • Familiarity with the IEP process and the collection of progress monitoring data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, enthusiastic style
