The Sales Manager is a key member of the hotel team, responsible for executing the sales strategy to achieve occupancy, average daily rate, and market share goals. This role involves creating and implementing account and segment-based sales strategies, monitoring production results, and adjusting tactics to stay competitive.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients to drive extended stay room sales.
- Partner with the Director of Sales and Regional Sales Director to maximize RevPar opportunities.
- Achieve budgeted revenues and personal/team sales goals, and maximize profitability.
- Identify operational problems impacting marketing activities and sales performance, and work with department heads on solutions.
- Create and implement hotel-level tactical sales plans to drive incremental occupancy, increase average rates, and increase business volume during off-peak periods.
- Previous background in the extended stay industry preferred.
- Fluent English language skills, with other languages beneficial.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances.
- Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
- Ability to travel, including some overnight travel, and valid driver's license required.
