Position Overview

The Bose Software Organization (BSO) is on the lookout for a highly proficient Principal Software Architect to contribute to our innovative automotive sector. In this influential role, you will be instrumental in defining the technological framework of our offerings, ensuring they adhere to the utmost standards of creativity, efficiency, and client satisfaction. This position demands a professional with a unique combination of profound technical knowledge, outstanding customer interaction skills, and robust leadership capabilities to promote collaboration across various teams and achieve successful results for our clients and Bose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the software architecture team to propose, define, design, and implement Bose's automotive software frameworks and platforms, creating abstraction layers that facilitate the delivery of distinctive audio experiences across diverse hardware and software environments.
  • Effectively communicate with technical authority, presenting Bose's software platform solutions to targeted OEMs, influencing their technical choices by demonstrating mutually beneficial scenarios and simplifying the integration of audio software.
  • Comprehend and articulate OEM's software-defined vehicle strategies, aligning Bose's automotive software architecture and platform trajectory to meet market demands.
  • Serve as the technical expert in software and audio signal processing, addressing OEM's specific requirements and challenges, and providing tailored solutions to mitigate development hurdles and risks. Work closely with sales and business development teams to ensure alignment with client expectations.
  • Lead technical presentations of Bose platform offerings to engage and persuade clients during the pre-sales phase.
  • Act as a key leader, working cross-functionally to represent Bose's technical strengths, particularly in software, to our OEM partners.
  • Utilize Bose's comprehensive software capabilities, including consumer product software, mobile applications, and cloud services, to enhance the value proposition for vehicles and our clients.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in automotive audio software technologies, assessing their relevance and potential integration into our offerings.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive knowledge in signal processing software architecture and frameworks for proprietary algorithms operating on complex multi-core automotive domain controllers, including DSPs, SoCs, CPUs, and microcontrollers.
  • Practical experience with automotive processor architectures, such as Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs and Analog Devices DSPs.
  • Strong software development expertise and familiarity with software engineering best practices, including object-oriented design, modularity, extensibility, reusability, and maintainability.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to comprehend client requirements and produce clear, concise technical documentation.
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently to support multiple long-term partnerships.
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities and the capacity to analyze intricate technical challenges to deliver optimal solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with a focus on Audio and/or Software.

  • Project management skills for planning, scheduling, executing, and reporting.
  • Experience in the automotive industry.
