About the Position

The Bose Software Organization (BSO) is on the lookout for a highly qualified and seasoned Principal Software Architect to become a vital member of our innovative team within the automotive sector. In this role, you will be instrumental in defining the technological framework of our products, ensuring they align with the highest benchmarks of innovation, performance, and customer satisfaction. This position calls for an individual with a unique combination of extensive technical knowledge, outstanding customer interaction skills, and robust leadership capabilities to promote collaboration across various functions and achieve successful results for our clients and Bose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the software architecture team by proposing, defining, designing, and implementing Bose's automotive software architecture and platforms, creating the abstraction layers necessary for delivering Bose's distinctive audio experiences across diverse hardware and software environments.
  • Engage with technical credibility, effectively presenting Bose's software platform solutions to targeted OEMs, influencing their technical choices by demonstrating mutually beneficial scenarios and simplifying the integration of audio software.
  • Comprehend and communicate the OEM's software-defined vehicle roadmap, aligning Bose's automotive software architecture and platform direction to meet market demands.
  • Serve as the technical expert in software and audio signal processing, understanding OEM-specific needs and challenges, and providing solutions to mitigate development pain points and risks. Collaborate closely with sales and business development teams to ensure alignment with customer expectations.
  • Lead technical demonstrations of Bose platform offerings to attract and persuade customers during the presale phase.
  • Act as a pivotal leader, working cross-functionally to represent Bose's technical capabilities, particularly in software, to our OEM partners.
  • Utilize Bose's comprehensive software capabilities, including consumer product software, mobile applications, and cloud services, to enhance value for the vehicle and our customers.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in automotive audio software technologies, assessing their relevance and potential integration into our offerings.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge in signal processing software architecture and frameworks for proprietary algorithms designed for complex multi-core automotive domain controllers, head units, and amplifiers, including DSPs, SoCs, CPUs, and microcontrollers.
  • Practical experience with automotive processor architectures, such as Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs and Analog Devices DSPs.
  • Strong software development skills and familiarity with software engineering best practices, including object-oriented design, modularity, extensibility, reusability, and maintainability.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to comprehend customer requirements and produce clear, concise technical documentation.
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently to support multiple long-term partnerships.
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities and the capacity to analyze complex technical challenges to deliver optimal solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with a focus on Audio and/or Software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management skills for planning, timing, executing, and reporting.
  • Experience in the automotive industry.
