Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Food Preparation Specialist to join our team at Cooper University Health Care. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food for our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu.
  • Read food orders or receive verbal instructions on food required by patrons and prepare and cook food according to instructions.
  • Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs.
  • Operate a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables, and trim and cut meat, poultry, or fish for culinary use.
  • Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment and follow all regulatory rules and procedures.
  • Comply with all HACCP policies and procedures.
  • Maintain proper food temperatures during food preparation and record those temperatures according to established policy.
  • Review next day production needs.
