Job Title: Research Administration Coordinator

Position Overview:

This position will provide essential support to the Research Administration team, overseeing operations related to program activities within the Commonwealth of Virginia. The role requires strong organizational skills and effective communication, necessitating a professional demeanor. Regular on-site presence is expected, along with participation in program activities on a monthly basis. Problem-solving will be conducted in alignment with administrative protocols and organizational policies. The position will report to the Assistant Director for Engagement and Programmatic Activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizing meetings of various sizes
  • Assisting in the coordination of research-related events
  • Arranging travel logistics
  • Providing financial support through expense management
  • Overseeing meeting logistics, including catering and technical support
  • Drafting communications such as memos, emails, and reports
  • Conducting research and compiling information
  • Maintaining records of meetings and attendance
  • Managing the calendar of the Executive Director

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and written communication abilities
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proven experience in coordinating departmental activities and projects
  • Outstanding analytical and decision-making capabilities
  • Effective multitasking skills
  • Proficient organizational and time management skills
  • Advanced proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently or collaboratively
  • Willingness to learn and a strong focus on customer service
  • Experience working effectively with diverse teams

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in administrative support roles and a Bachelor's degree are highly desirable.
