Key Responsibilities:
  • Carrier/Fleet Network Management: Develop and implement strategies to optimize fleet utilization, carrier compliance, and claims management, ensuring seamless execution of area/region contingency plans and ad hoc contingency plans.
  • Safety/Security/Compliance: Ensure that team and location meet all regulatory requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley, Department of Transportation, and Company standards, identifying and solving daily issues at a first level.
  • Customer Interaction (External): Provide last-mile execution, consultative services, and sales presentations to customers, ensuring exceptional service levels and freight revenue growth.
  • Tactical Execution of Key Initiatives: Participate in and lead key projects and high-performance teams at a local or area level, driving change within the team and managing projects to identify and execute business/supply chain opportunities.
  • P&L Responsibility: Develop and manage local budgets, conducting financial modeling and research on profitability/cost-to-serve at a local level, with accountability for local P&L.
  • Business Partner/Local Business Team member: Serve as a subject matter expert, designing and implementing customer logistics solutions, and participating in Local Business Teams.
Requirements:
  • Leadership, Communication, and Change Management Skills: Ability to communicate and persuade at a management level, with strong critical thinking, organization, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Functional Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of all modes of transportation, including fleet (private and 3PL), parcel, LTL, TL, courier/mid-market, and transportation and supply chain software (TMS, ERP, FMS systems).
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or related field, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience managing transportation, inbound logistics, warehousing, procurement, small package/parcel.
