Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee client functions to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction
  • Sell, manage, and execute group assignments turned over by the Sales Department
  • Monitor contractual agreements and ensure seamless execution of events
  • Communicate effectively with hotel departments to deliver exceptional service
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and maintain accurate records
  • Participate in business review meetings, pre-convention meetings, and training sessions
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, and customer needs
  • Prepare function sheets, catering correspondence, and control meeting space bookings
  • Consult with team members on special menus and services
  • Forecast banquet food and beverage sales and maintain accurate records
  • Analyze food pricing and catering service records to plan and adjust pricing and policies
  • Arrange details for banquets, off-site events, and special parties
  • Set and negotiate terms for catering services with the Director of Sales & Marketing
  • Lead, coach, and hold event planning team and coordination accountable
  • Establish and maintain operational excellence standards for sales and catering system usage
  • Cooperate with department heads to fulfill overall hotel commitments

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in Catering/Event Management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, networking, and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex tasks and prioritize competing demands
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability with constructive, team-centric leadership skills
  • Excellent team skills, including listening, coaching, guiding, flexible working, adaptability, collaboration, and facilitation
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, asking questions, building consensus, presenting, and obtaining buy-in

Education:

  • 4-year college degree preferred, but combination of education and relevant position training and experience will be considered
  • CMP Certification preferred
