Compensation

Hourly Rate: Competitive pay based on certification and experience, ranging from $21.00.

Available in multiple areas including Byron Center, Grand Rapids, Wyoming, and Wayland.

Position Purpose

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the timely, accurate, and safe administration of medications to residents, following the directives of healthcare professionals. This position also emphasizes the importance of implementing the personal care and service plans for residents, ensuring they are treated with dignity and respect while promoting their independence.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess one of the following certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Competency Evaluated Nursing Assistant (CENA), Medical Assistant (MA), or Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.). Candidates should typically be at least 18 years old and hold a high school diploma or equivalent. The ability to perform essential functions of the role both physically and mentally is necessary, along with effective communication skills in English. Competency in the proper administration of medications is also required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications to residents as prescribed by licensed healthcare professionals.
  • Document medication administration accurately and promptly in the EMAR system.
  • Report any medication-related concerns following established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of medications, including controlled substances, and reorder as necessary.
  • Ensure the medication cart and room are clean and organized, adhering to EMAR requirements.
  • Communicate routinely with healthcare professionals, pharmacy staff, and family members regarding resident care.
  • Document all communications related to resident care, including any changes in medication.
  • Respond to resident requests for assistance and observe any changes in their condition.
  • Assist residents in maintaining their highest level of independence.
  • Follow infection control protocols diligently.
  • Provide exceptional care and service to residents in accordance with their individual care plans.
