Job Summary

Mindlance is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician II to join our team in the Flow Cytometry department. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing flow cytometry setups and data acceptability checks, as well as providing troubleshooting guidance to staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up flow cytometry panels and perform data acceptability checks
  • Provide troubleshooting guidance to staff on complex instrument and equipment problems
  • Work with vendors to resolve instrument/equipment-related problems and summarize results of investigations
  • Coordinate the development and completion of training materials and checklists
  • Initiate revisions to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or write new SOPs to reflect current processes
  • Coordinate with other departments and sites to ensure timely completion of SOPs
  • Responsible for coordinating with other resources to ensure timely completion and implementation of new assay validations
  • Analyze existing processes and create new approaches or ideas to improve
  • Work with internal/external departments to ensure successful implementation of changes/improvements
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
  • Minimum 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience
  • State Medical Technician license may be required
  • ASCP or AMT certification is either preferred or required
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
  • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
