Job Title: Assistant Director, Financial Capability and Resident Business Development

Join the City of New York Inc. team as we seek a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our efforts in improving economic opportunities for residents. As Assistant Director, Financial Capability and Resident Business Development, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing programs, collaborations, and policies to enhance financial literacy, asset building, and business development outcomes for NYCHA residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage partnerships with government agencies, financial institutions, and community-based organizations to maximize resource efficiency and increase access to services for residents.
  • Develop data-driven strategies to support NYCHA residents in increasing their assets and earnings over time, including credit establishment, asset growth, savings, debt reduction, and business development.
  • Oversee the existing portfolio of REES resident business development initiatives, including the Business Pathways series, market access, and business growth opportunities for NYCHA entrepreneurs.
  • Ensure NYCHA policies align with resident business development and growth efforts, leading campaign efforts to increase resident awareness of related policies and coordinating bi-annual webinars for business development partners.
  • Provide technical support to organizations and collaborations to ensure understanding of NYCHA policy and procedure implications in service delivery for residents seeking financial counseling, asset building, and resident business development services.
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, plus four years of experience in providing employment-related services or economic support services to persons in need, with at least 18 months in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Four-year high school diploma or its equivalent and eight years of experience equivalent to the above, with at least 18 months in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
