Job Summary

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Director RN to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and clinical direction to our nursing team, ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Wellness Management
    • Provide strategic leadership for resident care in the community, managing and directing the nursing team to promote the health and wellness of the resident population.
    • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other clinical providers to coordinate care and services for residents.
    • Develop and implement individualized service plans to meet the unique needs of each resident.
  • Medication Management
    • Provide oversight of the community medication management program to promote resident safety in the medication use process.
    • Collaborate with the medication care managers to ensure accurate and timely medication administration.
  • Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance
    • Track, trend, and report clinical quality data to identify areas for improvement.
    • Lead clinical quality and process improvement initiatives to mitigate risk and improve resident care outcomes.
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and provincial regulations, as well as board of nursing requirements.
  • Financial Management
    • Manage the department budget, including labor and other expenses, to ensure efficient use of resources.
    • Process and submit monthly expenses and budget data in a timely manner.
  • Training, Leadership, and Team Member Development
    • Participate in Sunrise University training and self-study programs to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
    • Develop and implement training programs for new team members and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
    • Collaborate with the Regional Director of Resident Care and Executive Director to develop and implement departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited college or school of nursing with a current state license as a professional Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Minimum two (2) years RN experience, with at least one (1) year experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care environment preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year nursing management experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and daily operations supervision.
  • Certified in CPR and First Aid.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applied nursing practices, techniques, and methods in accordance with federal, state, and provincial regulations.
  • Ability to delegate assignments to the appropriate individuals based on their demonstrated skill capability and in compliance with all regulations.
