Job Summary

The Texas Department of Public Safety is seeking highly qualified individuals to fill the position of Peace Officer. As a Peace Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the public, and upholding the laws of the state.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Must have honorably served as a sworn full-time paid peace officer or Federal Law Enforcement Officer within two continuous years as of April 2, 2025
  • Must have a valid Driver's License upon appointment as a Trooper Trainee and must obtain a Texas Driver's License prior to graduating from Trooper Trainee Academy
  • Must provide performance evaluation for the past two years from your current/previous employer, if applicable
  • Must be a citizen of the United States
  • Must be at least 20 years of age to apply and must be 21 years of age at the time of graduation from the academy class and promotion to the position of Probationary Trooper
