Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Budget Analyst to join our team at the Texas Department of Public Safety. As a key member of our financial management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, organizing, and evaluating of budgetary activities and performance measures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret budget data to inform financial decisions
  • Develop and implement budget plans and forecasts to ensure fiscal responsibility
  • Communicate with stakeholders to gather information and provide financial insights
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of other analysts to ensure timely and accurate budget reporting
  • Prepare and present financial reports to executive management and other stakeholders
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Accounting, Auditing, Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of three years' progressively responsible work experience in accounting, budget preparation and analysis, financial management, fiscal policymaking, and performance measurement reporting or closely related activities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and appropriate levels of proficiency with utilized software and systems (e.g. CAPPS, SharePoint, USAS, Tableau)

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and priorities. The successful candidate will be able to effectively communicate with stakeholders, both verbally and in writing, and will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
