Overview

As a pivotal member of the Management & Professional Liability team, the Senior D&O Claims Analyst is tasked with the comprehensive management of claims associated with Directors' & Officers' (D&O) liability insurance for Public, Private, and Not-For-Profit entities. This role involves overseeing a diverse portfolio of primary and excess claims characterized by significant exposure and complexity. Key responsibilities encompass the resolution of coverage disputes, assessment of liability, establishment of appropriate reserves, litigation oversight, and strategic alignment with the Company's overarching goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly manage and monitor claims related to Directors' & Officers' (D&O), ensuring thorough analysis of coverage issues and appropriate reserve levels.
  • Review and interpret loss notifications, confirming policy coverages and investigating claims to facilitate resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with underwriting teams to discuss claims, industry developments, and policy endorsements.
  • Identify and pursue risk transfer opportunities through contractual agreements and insurance policy provisions.
  • Oversee the assignment and management of defense counsel, expert witnesses, and coordination with peer insurers, including the design and execution of defense and indemnity agreements.
  • Ensure meticulous file management, reserving practices, and adherence to company protocols.
  • Contribute to the development of claims handling strategies, including litigation planning and budget management.
  • Maintain diligent diary control and conduct thorough investigations to ensure reserves accurately reflect the company's risk exposure.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Travel as necessary for business needs.

Experience

A minimum of 10 years in D&O and Management Liability claims or a related civil litigation role is required.

Education Requirements

A four-year college degree is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

JD, CPCU, RPLU, SCLA, CCLA certifications are advantageous.

Supervisory Role

This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.

Travel Requirements

Some travel may be required, estimated at 10-15% of the time.

Work Environment

This role is situated within a collaborative professional environment, necessitating the ability to produce thorough and accurate work amidst competing demands and deadlines. Standard office equipment, including computers and telecommunication devices, will be utilized.
