Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech Language Pathology Assistant to join our team at ISD 728- Elk River Area Schools. As a Speech Language Pathology Assistant, you will work closely with our Speech Language Pathologists to provide direct and indirect services to students with speech and language disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct services to students, including individual and group therapy sessions, to help them develop and improve their communication skills.
  • Assist Speech Language Pathologists in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to implement strategies and accommodations to support students with speech and language disorders.
  • Conduct articulation screenings and provide feedback to Speech Language Pathologists.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and services provided.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree from a speech-language pathology assistant program or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other school staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with students with speech and language disorders.
  • Knowledge of speech and language development and disorders.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week. The Speech Language Pathology Assistant will work in a school setting, providing services to students in grades K-12. The position requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and to travel between buildings as needed.
