Position Overview:
Under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), the Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant will engage in direct instructional activities for students eligible for speech and language services as per the MN Special Education Speech Criteria. This role involves collaboration with the educational team, including the supervising SLP, school personnel, and the Special Education team, to enhance student communication outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver both direct and indirect speech/language therapy services in alignment with each student's Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
- Collaborate with the SLP to modify classroom environments, tools, and resources to support effective communication for students.
- Regularly meet with the supervising SLP to synchronize services, maintain accurate documentation, and update student records.
- Develop and implement lesson plans, prepare materials, and create visual aids for speech services.
- Document student progress through reports, annual IEP updates, and provide recommendations for targeted skills in goals/objectives for SLP review.
- Assist in transitioning skills into general education settings through indirect services.
- Conduct articulation screenings and manage scheduling for student sessions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- An Associate's degree from an accredited speech-language pathology assistant program or a Bachelor's degree in communication sciences or disorders with relevant coursework and at least 100 hours of supervised fieldwork experience.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, students, and parents, especially in high-pressure situations.
- Proficient in creating written correspondence and other communication materials.
- Competent in technology and computer applications.
- Willingness to work with students receiving SLP services and collaborate effectively with staff while accepting feedback.
- Ability to travel between multiple school locations as required.
- Must be capable of lifting at least 20 pounds and maintaining regular attendance.

Compensation: Starting at $25.75 per hour
