Specialized Veterinary Anesthesia Technician

VCA Animal Specialty Group operates a comprehensive 24-hour emergency and specialty veterinary facility. We are seeking highly skilled veterinary technicians or veterinary assistants with expertise in specialty anesthesia for complex surgical procedures.
Key Qualifications:
Expertise in specialty anesthesia is essential.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Valid RVT or VTS certification or eligibility for VTNE.
Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
- Placement of intravenous catheters.
- Venipuncture and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis.
- Radiographic imaging (spinal, thoracic, abdominal, and extremities).
- Induction, monitoring, and recovery of anesthesia for both stable and critical patients.
- Administering anesthesia for advanced imaging techniques (MRI and CT).
- Understanding of ventilatory support.
- Administering patient treatments.
- Calculating and preparing medications for administration, including boluses, continuous rate infusions, and blood transfusions.
- Preparation and assistance during both minor and major surgical procedures.
- Processing laboratory samples, both in-house and external.
- Restraint techniques for examinations and diagnostics.
Additional Requirements:
- Able to work 10-hour shifts, four days a week.
- Possession of a valid RVT license.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical environment.
- Exceptional communication and multitasking abilities.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to providing compassionate client service and patient care.
