Veterinary Anesthesia Specialist Technician

VCA Animal Specialty Group operates a dynamic 24-hour emergency and specialty veterinary hospital. We are currently seeking highly skilled veterinary technicians or veterinary assistants with a robust background in specialty anesthesia for complex surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expertise in specialty anesthesia practices.
- Possession of a valid RVT or VTS license, or eligibility for VTNE is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in:
- IV catheter placement
- Venipuncture and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
- Radiographic imaging (spinal, thoracic, abdominal, and extremities)
- Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery for both stable and critical patients
- Anesthesia management for advanced imaging techniques (MRI & CT)
- Ventilator operation
- Patient treatment protocols
- Medication preparation and administration (including boluses, CRIs, and blood transfusions)
- Assisting in minor and major surgical procedures
- Processing laboratory samples, both in-house and external
- Patient restraint for examinations and diagnostics
Candidate Qualifications:
- Able to commit to 10-hour shifts, four days a week.
- Possession of a valid RVT license.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical environment.
- Exceptional communication and multitasking abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Capability to deliver compassionate client service and patient care.
