Compensation Range: $21 to $42/hr + shift differentials - rate to be determined based on experience and skills assessment.

We are also offering a sign-on bonus of $3k to $10k for seasoned Veterinary Technicians.

As a Specialty Veterinary Technician, you will collaborate with our veterinarians to ensure compassionate patient care and provide essential medical support throughout the day. While your daily responsibilities may vary, some of your tasks may include (but are not limited to):
  • Conducting thorough and precise rounds
  • Assisting veterinarians with advanced procedures and diagnostics, including neurological assessments, preparing patients, and monitoring for CSF collection, as well as surgical preparation and monitoring for procedures such as hemilaminectomies and endoscopic surgeries
  • Interpreting ECG parameters and recognizing common abnormalities
  • Calculating and setting up continuous rate infusions accurately
  • Understanding the various types of crystalloids and colloids and knowing their appropriate applications. Setting up and maintaining a buretrol with fluids and additives
  • Identifying bradycardic and tachycardic arrhythmias
  • Performing routine intravenous inductions and safely intubating anesthetized patients, demonstrating correct positioning and cuff inflation (RVT only)
  • Executing basic suture techniques (RVT only)
  • Assisting with and performing basic and advanced CPR
  • Safely and correctly restraining animals
  • Familiarity with common medications utilized within the department (and hospital)
  • Participation in Anesthesia On-Call shifts may be required
Our ideal candidates will possess:
  • A minimum of 2 years of prior veterinary technician experience, preferably in ER/Specialty
  • RVT license preferred
  • A strong willingness to learn
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Each hospital is fully equipped with Pulmonetics or Maquet Servo critical care ventilators.
