Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver exceptional customer service experiences.
  2. Guide customers in selecting products that meet their specific needs.
  3. Exhibit a strong commitment to the care and well-being of all animals.
  4. Handle cash register operations efficiently.
  5. Support the store in achieving its sales objectives.
  6. Ensure products are adequately stocked and accurately priced.
  7. Follow established operational protocols and store policies.
  8. Address customer inquiries and, when necessary, refer them to the appropriate team leader.

Accountability:

The successful candidate will consistently perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  1. Ensure the health and welfare of live animals by adhering to established care standards, including regular health checks.
  2. Communicate professionally and effectively with all stakeholders, emphasizing company values.
  3. Provide prompt and courteous service by understanding customer needs and sharing product knowledge.
  4. Demonstrate expertise in nutrition and loyalty program sign-ups to enhance sales.
  5. Facilitate an outstanding customer experience across all service channels.
  6. Manage all aspects of point-of-sale transactions accurately.
  7. Assist in the organization and presentation of merchandise.
  8. Complete cash register transactions and assist with customer carry-out services.
  9. Adhere to loss prevention strategies.
  10. Assist in inventory management and ensure accurate stock levels.
  11. Maintain a clean and safe environment for animals and customers.
  12. Report any animal health concerns to store leadership immediately.
  13. Perform routine cleaning tasks to uphold the store's professional appearance.
  14. Support store management with opening and closing procedures.
  15. Participate in inventory audits as required.
  16. Promote and follow safety procedures to maintain a healthy environment.
  17. Engage in special projects as assigned.

Supervisory Role:

No supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This role primarily takes place indoors, with occasional tasks requiring movement outside the store. The position involves physical activities such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver up to 2000 lbs with appropriate equipment. Adherence to safety protocols is essential to prevent injury.
