Position Summary and Requirements

This role involves collaborating with the healthcare team to enhance teamwork aimed at delivering quality patient care.

You will:

  • Initiate and lead educational initiatives for comprehensive stroke protocols across various facilities.
  • Conduct mock Code Neuros exercises during both regular and off-hours at different locations.
  • Ensure successful outcomes during the certification survey process for disease-specific programs.
  • Facilitate and coordinate essential components of the Stroke Center Certification process.
  • Educate healthcare staff and physicians on compliance standards and evidence-based practices for acute stroke care.
  • Engage in patient-centered research related to stroke.
  • Interact with patients and their families to assess compliance with care protocols and measure satisfaction.
  • Aggregate and report data pertinent to certification programs in relevant committees.
  • Develop written assessments and recommend improvements in clinical practices.
  • Assist facility staff in achieving competencies in stroke patient care.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to identify educational needs for staff development.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Virginia or a compact license.
  • Specialty Certification.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
