Position Summary and Requirements
This role involves collaborating with the healthcare team to enhance teamwork aimed at delivering quality patient care.
You will:
- Initiate and lead educational initiatives for comprehensive stroke protocols across various facilities.
- Conduct mock Code Neuros exercises during both regular and off-hours at different locations.
- Ensure successful outcomes during the certification survey process for disease-specific programs.
- Facilitate and coordinate essential components of the Stroke Center Certification process.
- Educate healthcare staff and physicians on compliance standards and evidence-based practices for acute stroke care.
- Engage in patient-centered research related to stroke.
- Interact with patients and their families to assess compliance with care protocols and measure satisfaction.
- Aggregate and report data pertinent to certification programs in relevant committees.
- Develop written assessments and recommend improvements in clinical practices.
- Assist facility staff in achieving competencies in stroke patient care.
- Collaborate with department leaders to identify educational needs for staff development.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Virginia or a compact license.
- Specialty Certification.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
