Aquatics Specialist Job Description

At Westminster Canterbury of Richmond, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Aquatics Specialist to join our team. As an Aquatics Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating aquatic programs and maintaining the pool facility, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and oversee all aquatic program activities, ensuring compliance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain and implement Aquatic Center safety protocols, adhering to infection control standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety and equipment inspections, managing pool maintenance programs and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement special programs and events related to wellness, working closely with staff to maximize resident and staff usage of the Aquatic Center.
  • Utilize preventative lifeguarding skills to ensure a safe and quality environment for pool use.
  • Assist with land-based wellness programming as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguard training certification.
  • Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) certification or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse customer groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience providing aquatic exercise for geriatric populations.
  • Strong knowledge base of exercise and nutrition.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification.
  • Previous experience working with elderly populations.
