Job Summary

As a Quality Nurse Consultant - Sepsis/Stroke, you will play a critical role in coordinating quality, accreditation, regulatory, and licensing activities for the medical center. You will provide clinical, educational, consulting, and coordinating support to assigned areas, utilizing your nursing licensure to ensure the safety, comfort, and protection of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a consultant for quality, accreditation, regulatory, and licensing activities, providing expert guidance and support to assigned areas.
  • Assist with quality management studies, collecting and analyzing data to inform decision-making and drive improvement.
  • Analyze and interpret quality principles, providing recommendations for improvement and implementation.
  • Organize and coordinate project planning, group process facilitation, training, and the application of information technology to support quality initiatives.
  • Report and follow up on occurrences that may lead to medical center liability, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration to implement evidence-based guidelines, criteria, and clinical tools to reduce variation in clinical practice and optimize outcomes.
  • Educate physicians and staff on regional projects or regulatory reviews, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Analyze risk management and patient safety principles, providing recommendations for incorporation into credentialing processes.
  • Support the maintenance of IC records and policy/procedure manual reviews and revisions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Support the medical center's continuous survey readiness program, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
  • Minimum three (3) years of combined experience in quality, risk management, patient safety, infection prevention, accreditation/regulation, or operational clinical leadership in a healthcare setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, business administration, economics, healthcare administration, operation research, public health administration, or other related field.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire.
  • CIC certificate required within three (3) years, if primary job focus is Infection Control.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience working in quality operations in an acute care setting.
  • Quality/Risk/Patient Safety/Just Culture/Project Management/Lean/IP certification.
  • Masters degree preferred.
