Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will either be a graduate of a two-year culinary program with two years of relevant experience or possess a minimum of five years of experience in reputable establishments. This role involves overseeing staff and managing food preparation and production.

You will be expected to uphold the standards and quality guidelines established by the Executive Chef and General Manager.

The Sous Chef should be adept in all kitchen roles, responsible for training, supervising, and assessing team members.

In addition, you will assist in menu creation, cost management, monthly inventory, staff scheduling, and procurement.

Maintaining the cleanliness and proper condition of the kitchen and equipment, ensuring safety and sanitation standards, and guaranteeing safe food service are essential duties.

Proficiency in all kitchen stations and the ability to effectively supervise, communicate, and collaborate with colleagues and service staff are crucial.

Adherence to Vail Resorts Culinary Guidelines is mandatory.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years of culinary experience in a high-paced, fine dining environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry over 40 lbs.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A team-oriented mindset is essential.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of managerial experience.
  • Basic knowledge of the Spanish language.

The expected salary range for this position is $55,000 - $61,000. Compensation decisions are made based on various factors.
